Cancelling a lost or stolen cheque book

If your cheque book is lost or stolen, you should call us immediately on 08457 20 30 99.  Lines are open 24 hours a day.  We will cancel the cheque book and arrange for a replacement to be sent to you.  There is no charge for this service.

Ordering a new cheque book

New cheque books are usually sent out automatically as you approach the end of your current cheque book.  If you lose or damage your cheque book, you can cancel your existing book and arrange for a replacement by completing and returning the Cheque Book request form in our useful forms section, or by calling us on 08457 20 30 40 (Lines are open 24 hours a day), or at your nearest branch.

If you reach the end of your cheque book and haven't received a new one, please call the number above and we'll arrange for one to be sent to you.

Stopping a cheque / requesting a copy of a paid cheque

If you wish to place a stop on a personal cheque, you will need to call us on 08457 20 30 40 (lines are open 8am to 8pm 7 days a week) before the cheque is paid.  There is a charge of £7.50 for this service and you should advise the person you gave the cheque to that you have cancelled the cheque.

It is not possible to stop a guaranteed cheque.  The amount of the guarantee is shown on your debit / cheque guarantee card.

If you are stopping the cheque because it was stolen, you should call 08457 20 30 99 immediately.  There is no charge for cancelling a stolen cheque.

To request a copy of a personal cheque already paid from your account, call 08457 20 30 40 (lines are open 8am to 8pm 7 days a week) or visit your nearest branch. The copy will show both sides of the paid cheque, and there is a £5 charge for this service.

Old / previous / duplicate bank account statements

Customers of our online banking service can receive and store their statements online for up to 2 years, viewing and printing them at anytime, without any charges.  More information can be found in our paper-free section.

A duplicate paper statement can be requested by calling us on 08457 20 30 40 or at your nearest branch.  There is a £5 charge for this service.

Querying a transaction on your statement

If you are unsure about a transaction on your statement, then call us anytime on 08457 20 30 40 (08458 50 55 25 for Easycash customers), or visit your nearest branch.

Calls from BT landlines cost a maximum of 4p per minute. The price from other telephone companies will vary.
